Dispatched to The Shield and won’t be able to put together a new show this week, however we’ll re-broadcast a classic episode in its place. In the meantime, here are two very different tracks that are stuck in our heads right now.
First off, a track by Fiery Furnaces leading lady Eleanor Friedberger. Her first solo album is called Last Summer, and “My Mistakes” is perfectly appropriate for a lazy August Sunday.
And then, an incredibly powerful and stripped-down take on the Arcade Fire’s “The Suburbs” by Norway’s Mr. Little Jeans (who is a Ms). Megan remarked that hearing the song this way makes the lyrics sound even more bleak and tragic than the original.
