Hello everyone. It's been…well, almost two years since we've updated this website properly. But the machine is finally moving again for us and with a bunch of new things on the horizon we decided a little freshening up of the website wouldn't hurt.

First, and perhaps most exciting, is that we're finally working on the new album. After more than two years of writing and rewriting and dewriting new material, we think we're ready to put it all down on a CD and release it to the world. The new disc is called “Songs for Girls” and will include some of the material we've been playing live over the last few years as well as a few brand new ones. The tracks are tentatively titled, in no particular order:

Talking Through a Trainwreck
Et in Arcadia Ego
Tragic Beheading Accidents
The Victory at Jolity Farm
Second Heart, Secret Heart
Blessed Be the One Who Sits Down
Two Bookends
There is No Significance in Eighth Impressions

Drums, bass and some guitars are done at this point. We will be adding more guitars, piano, violin, vocals, horns and whatever other instruments we can get our hands on in the coming months. We're hoping for a release early in the new year. You can read a little bit about the recording process thus far in the journal section.

In other news, we have a show coming up in November. Our good friends, As The Poets Affirm (www.asthepoetsaffirm.com) are coming to Lindsay and together we're going to put on a benefit for the Trish's Wish Foundation on the 25th. Details for the show are not yet finalized, but we'll put them here once they are.

Other than that, have a look around the site. We have new pictures, new song demos, new information and things are just a little prettier. Check back now and again for updates.

Please please please please please be good to one another.

Andrew, Nick, Scott, Dennis, Liam, Jocelyn

Hello again everyone,

Thanks a lot to everyone who came out and supported us over the summer. The past couple of months have been a lot of fun for us and we appreciate the support we’ve gotten from both fans and bands alike in Lindsay and elsewhere.

Unfortunately, the next couple of months are going to involve some down-time for us while we’re all back at school. We will continue writing songs with one another over the internet, but because of the long distances between us all at this point, our live shows will be few and far between. We will continue to keep this site updated with what we’re doing and with any shows that we might happen to be able to organize.

Sometime in the next little while, we hope to upload a remix of Are Tears the Blood of the Soul (part 1) to the Music section. Scott has been working diligently on mixing the Slow Fires in a Distant City mix of the song and it will now feature the lovely Jocelyn Porter on violin and will therefore be a much prettier song. The next album will include her in full force, but until then, you’ll have to settle for this one song.

And with that, strange friends, we bid you farewell for a time. Continue to drop by, we get lonely here.

Andrew, Nick, Scott, Dennis, Liam, Jocelyn.

Hello everyone,

We'd just like to let you all know that Coming Home to Traffic Patterns will be performing on Saturday evening at Rockapaloozafestockival 3D: Game Over (best name ever). Details about when, where and why the show is can be found at www.dogbusonline.com in the Dogbus Music section. This is a giant local music festival for the City of Kawartha Lakes area as well as a CD release for Outloud 3, a Dogbus compilation on which we are featured.

We also now have merchandise available including CDs and T-shirts. If you would like to purchase either of these items and can't make it to a show/my house in the next little while, feel free to email us at traffic_patterns@hotmail.com and ask for whichever you desire. We'll find a way to get 'em to you. CDs are $5, T-shirts are $7, or you can purchase them both for the stunning and sexy price of $10.

Also, swing over to our Images section to see some pictures of us opening for Clann Zu at the Casbah in Hamilton. More will follow from our more recent shows, but not until I move them off my other computer and onto this one, so you'll have to be patient.

That's all the news we have for you now. Stay tuned, we may have a secret for you later involving a new song and a recording thereof.

Andrew, Nick, Scott, Dennis, Jocelyn, Liam.

Hey everyone. I know the site has been quiet over the last little while, so I thought I’d drop in and tell you what we’ve been up to. Recording of the album is now done and we’re in the final stages of mixing. The album is eight tracks and runs about 45 minutes. We’re really happy with the way it sounds and as soon as artwork is complete, we’ll start putting together the packaging and getting them out there for people to hear. The artwork is being handled by Michael Cook, an incredible digital artist and photographer/friend of ours, and will no doubt be stunning. The album still doesn’t have a title yet, but once we all remember what the whole thing’s about, we’ll get on that.

Other than the album, the band is gonna be in a bit of a lull for the next couple of months. Liam is away doing army stuff in New Brunswick and doesn’t get back until mid-August and since he’s far too good to replace, we’re holding off on any major shows until then. With that being said, we are going to do a drummer-less show on August the 1st in Lindsay, opening for an amazing Australian post-rock group called Clann Zu. If you’re in the area that night and have nothing better to do, for the sweet love of Christ on a pogo-stick, come see this show. We’ll just be doing a low-key piano/guitar/bass set, but Clann Zu. That’s all, just Clann Zu. More details on this will follow when we get them.

Also, within the next few days, final cuts of two of the album tracks will go up on the website in the “Music” section.

In other news, if you’d like to get on the CHTP mailing list, send an email to traffic_patterns@hotmail.com with the subject heading “Mailing List” and we’ll put you on there. Basically, you’ll just be getting information straight from us about what’s going on with the band, what kind of shows we have coming up and what colour underwear we have on at the moment.

And that’s all we have to tell you for now. Until next time, strange friends.

Scott, Andrew, Nick, Liam, Dennis.

Thanks a lot to everyone that came out to support the Warchild benefit show on Friday. We had a great time playing, got to see lots of great local bands and we’ve heard that over 200 people attended at the peak of the night and that over $1000 was raised to go towards Warchild. You can read about the show in the Journal section.

In other news, Coming Home to Traffic Patterns is finishing up the recording of our first full-length musical piece. The disc will be one song split into either 8 or 9 tracks and should be finished sometime around the end of June. We’re doing the drums this week and then it will be more guitar recording and some fine tuning before we start concentrating on the artwork and such. We’ll let you know how things are going a little later on.

Hello, everyone, and welcome to the new Coming Home to Traffic Patterns site. Things are still under construction and stuff is still being added, but we like it so far and we have the lovely Megan to thank for designing it for us. So, have a look around and see what there is to see. Check back every now and again for more updates. Mp3 samples, some photographs and more show listings will be added as they come.

With that being said, here’s our first show announcement:
