Megan blew my mind last night with all the great new music she acquired for upcoming episodes. The next three mbtrg shows aren’t even recorded yet, but they’re already teeming with material from artists who will be releasing albums this fall. So we figured we might as well share a bit of it, since I think patience is something that was extinguished with the invention of the smartphone.
First off, we promised we’d get you new material from Feist whenever she released it, and she has! “How Come You Never Go There” is the first track off her upcoming Metals LP, and it lands in stores the first week of October. We’ll get to it on the show next week, but give it a listen now:
But more exciting (to someone like me) is the September 13th release of St. Vincent (aka Annie Clark)’s follow-up to her lauded 2009 album, Actor. I loved that disc, and judging by “Surgeon”, it sounds as though Clark’s taking things down an even more unconventional path for the upcoming Strange Mercy.
